Prayerforce.org Use God's love to stop genocide with A Prayer For The People of Dafur. About Dafur Hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children are being slaughtered, women are being gang raped as "government policy" and tens of thousands displaced from their homes. A brutal system of ethnic cleansing is being practiced against the Black people of Darfur, located in the western region of Sudan. The Janjaweed, a nomadic group of armed Arab militiamen (many of whom are embedded in the government's military and police organizations), is causing these horrific conditions. These are Arabs exterminating Africans because they are black. The fact that most of the Africans they are killing have adopted their Muslim faith is irrelevant to them. The Sudanese government has not intervened, probably because international pressure has been lacking. As a result, the Janjaweed has terrorized the Darfur region by raping women and castrating men, burning villages, killing religious leaders, destroying mosques and ruining food stocks while torturing and murdering men, women and children alike. It's estimated over 400,000¹ have died.
Please - for their children and ours - pray and send a letter to your representatives today. Urgent Prayer For the People of Dafur Dear God, Atrocities have occurred in Dafur. Lord, Your children who call themselves Arabs - the Janjaweed - have turned against the Africans who inhabit Dafur. Although we are all brothers in your eyes, brother has butchered brother, heaping horrific suffering on all. Lord, I cannot let this stand. I must do something to protect my Black African brothers and sisters. For we are all one family of man and every death diminishes me. By Your Grace, I unite my mind with You now. By Your Grace, all who read and speak this prayer unite with You now. We stand in that place where there is no space and no time but only energy. Together, we speak with and for these people named Black and African And who belong to the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa groups. In this place we say to the Janjaweed: We, united in spirit with our Black brethren, refuse to be victims. We withdraw all permission and energy that allowed the Janjaweed to attack. By the Grace of God, we affirm that our Black and Arab brethren are now filled with the truth: That every person is a precious cell in the body of humanity. That Blacks and non-blacks are two halves of the same whole. That Blacks and Arabs are brothers and sisters in the same family. And that it is possible for Arabs to see the beauty in Black African values, culture and community so that they are moved to protect and nurture it - not destroy it. By the Grace of God, the false separation between all of us dissolves. That separation now returns to the nothingness from which it came. The misguided activities of the Janjaweed stop HERE and stop NOW. The desire to attack DISSOLVES into nothingness. The Janjaweed feel the horror of what they have done and make amends. As Christ forgave those who crucified Him, the Blacks in the Sudan - whose hearts are so big - forgive. By the Grace of God, this situation is resolved. If governments must take action, you guide us and them so they do. All people in Dafur and in Sudan live in peace. And so it is. And Lord, for my part, I choose now, in this moment, to accept the truth: attack breeds attack. And revenge breeds revenge. And I admit I have been part of this cycle. My weapons of war have been thoughts and words. For I have uttered unkind words. I have held resentments. And I have felt fear, hostility and hate. Dissolve the effects of these actions, Lord. Neutralize every hateful thought in which I attacked any one in any way. Undo every resentment, every jealousy and every wish for ill that I have ever held against anyone for any reason, no matter how slight. For You have the power to do this. Take it all back, Lord. Now. Undo my contribution. And guide me in making personal amends. I affirm that You guide me so well in loving myself, that I am empty of hate. For I refuse to be part of this cycle of man against man any longer. I am impeccable in my quest for peace And in my determination to treat others kindly in my mind. And so it is by Your Grace, Heavenly Father. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. I am forgiven and I forgive. And this miracle extends throughout the world, touching everyone. And so it is. Amen.
